Online since 1998, OtherSpace is a text-based space opera/science fantasy interactive saga in which participants from around the world become central characters in an evolving story that reacts to chains of cause and effect.

Players can take on roles as humanoids or aliens, visiting a galaxy of worlds as they interact and weave their own personal stories amidst the epic storylines driven by the staff and their fellow players.

For the first six years, OtherSpace followed a series of seventeen story arcs that saw malevolent alien forces using technology to extort people to fight a genocidal war, revolutions by the downtrodden, genetic engineering scandals, warmongering alien invaders, escape aboard a massive colony ship, a journey through time and a return to a universe much changed, a final conflict between trans-dimensional alien super races, and the opening of a multiverse nexus that led to an untold numbers of new worlds...

Now, none of that really matters.

In our second decade, the known universe has been ripped asunder by powerful energy rifts, resulting in an exodus of refugees to the realm known as Hiverspace.

Here, survivors from the old universe struggle to find their place among denizens of the new.
